Vascular / Pigment Laser

Cutera Excel V laser can treat both vascular and flat pigmented lesions. The commonest conditions that are treatable are acne rosacea, facial telangiectasias, facial flushing, venous lakes (blue dots on the lips), vascular birthmarks such as port wine stains and sunspots and freckles.

How does Vascular Laser work?

The laser has both green and infrared light to target the colour and depth of your particular skin concern. The vessels or pigmented lesions will then fade over time.

What are the possible side effects?

Redness and swelling is often seen for a couple of days after treatment. Bruising is an occasional side effect, depending on the condition being treated.

Brown flat marks will flake off over a number of days. Concealer and make up can be worn after treatment. Ice and antihistamines (non drowsy) may help reduce swelling.

How many treatments are required?

This will vary from 1-4 depending on the severity of the skin condition. Treatments should be spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

What does Vascular Laser feel like?

There is a snapping or pricking sensation with some heat felt after treatment. It does not require numbing cream but ice afterwards can relieve any discomfort. The laser tip is also cooled for best results and protection of the upper skin layers.
